Her Idea of a Romantic Night

She’d rather wear a pair of cut-off jeans
than a fancy evening dress,
And with her windows rolled down and her hair all blown around, she’s a hot southern mess...
She’ll take a beer over white wine and a campfire over candle light,
And when it comes to love, oh her idea of a romantic night...

Is listenin’ to old Alabama, drivin' through Tennessee...
A little Dixieland Delight at the Right Time of the Night,
And she can’t keep her hands off of me-ee-eee!

Now we’re rollin’ down an old back road,
I got the steering wheel in one hand...
We’ll find a hideaway where she and I can play,
In Mother Nature’s band...

Now we’re listenin’ to old Alabama, parked somewhere in Tennessee...
A little Dixieland Delight and It Feels So Right,
And It’s Love In The First Degree-ee-eee!

Forget about Sinatra or Coltrane,
or some ol’ Righteous Brothers song,
Hey, even Barry White ain’t gonna work tonight,
 if you really wanna turn her on;
Play some back home come on music that comes from the heart,
Play something with lots of feeling,
‘cause that’s where music has to start…

Now we’re listenin' to Old Alabama,
and we’re drivin' through Tennessee,
A little Dixieland Delight and It Feels So Right and
its Love in the First Degree...

Yeah’ you know we’re listenin' to Old Alabama,(old Alabama)
drivin' through Tennessee, (Tennessee)
A little Why Lady Why at The Right Time of The Night
Oh and she can’t keep her hands off of me-ee-eee

Oh, play me some old Alabama,
Oh, play me some old Alabama...
Won’t you play me some old Alabama,
Play me some old Alabama...
Won’t you play
yehaw!

I am beyond thrilled! On my way home from work tonight I came across this little gem playing on my radio! I love Brad Paisley (I always imagine I'm the one his songs are meant for, as does every girl) and I love Alabama! This song is another one that makes me wonder where the guy that loves this kinda girl is--cause I certainly fill the female side of this bill. There is only one line that doesn't ring like a bell for me, and maybe you know which it is?

Anyways, Paisley is as awesome as ever... now for an Alabama link or two...

Dancin' (Shaggin' on the Boulevard) http://youtu.be/zZYOJQ79DOw <3 it!
If you're gonna play in Texas http://youtu.be/w6r4E514nJg

And my very favorite song by Alabama? (Which would probably surprise everyone who knows that I mock most out and out love songs...) The Closer You Get http://youtu.be/hEu1t4oeR7E

I'm gonna guess that it's the first line about cut-offs that doesn't fit. (although the line about the Righteous Brothers not doing it doesn't seem quite true, either)

Parenthetically, you're correct. Sinatra can send me into a frenzy! The Righteous Brothers are pretty righteous themselves though ;) forgive the play on words...

I'd argue that i was right on both counts. I doubt you have a single pair of shorts in your whole wardrobe!

That is kinda a creepy thing to guess under "anonymous"... theoretically, you don't know me!

And, actually, I DO own a few pairs, thank you very much =p

"I'm supposed to have a Ph.D. on the subject of women. But the truth is I've flunked more often than not. I'm very fond of women; I admire them. But, like all men, I don't understand them." -Frank Sinatra

If only all the male flunkies out there looked and sounded like Sinatra, I could live with that! lol
