You and Tequila

Fine, so KC is officially back into my good graces. He's finally making some good, meaningful tunes again. Thank God, cause he (in my opinion) was wasting his talent on redundant songs about Mexico there for awhile. Welcome back Kenny. This song and "Somewhere with You" are worthy of my current soundtrack... He's definitely still got it.

Tell em' Anything You Want To

Let's face it, I'm addicted to the therapy of writing and listening to music.

It's official, I'm applying for jobs in Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Vermont and Virginia. We'll see what jumps off... if anything. I've heard that Nevada and Georgia are decent possiblities... but... I'm more into the beauty of the lush landscape and little towns with lots of personality. I just dunno. I think it would be nice to just up and leave and move to another state. Life around here is just getting entirely too stressful. (It always has been.)

I wanted to teach overseas but I just don't have the funds to do it. Maybe one day though...

All Gave Some

People know him for Achy Breaky but BRC is way more than that. This should really be the song he is remembered for. He wrote it when he met a veteran in 1991 and his first album was named "Some Gave All" for a reason. I could go on and on about it... but I won't.

Cease Fire

Liberate your words,
I want to make love.
If it's a game we're playing
throw your deuces to the floor
and fold up the board.

Make love to me, I don't care.

I'm asking
you to abandon
all of the props that
make you seem obscure.
You can strip me

of the mask that you hate
so much.The one that says
"I'm the boss."
If you'll welcome the truce

and give me the permission
that I'm waiting for then

Well...

Sometimes, it's true, an
affinity for tension overrides
whatever tenderness I feel.
But I'm calling for a cease fire.
No weapons of verbs or adjectives-
I'm not even asking to hear
you whisper my name-
Just pack up your pride and
I'd bury my reservations.
I want to make love
to you.

I haven't really decided how I feel about this one. I'm pretty sure it is one of those that I'll scrap an make a new one from.

If you want more love
Why don't you say so?
If you want more love
Why don't you say so?

Drop his name
Push it in and twist the knife again
Watch my face
As I pretend to feel no pain, pain, pain

Clouds of sulfur in the air
Bombs are falling everywhere
It's heartbreak warfare
Once you want it to begin
No one really ever wins
In heartbreak warfare

If you want more love
Why don't you say so?
If you want more love
Why don't you say so?

Just say so...

How come the only way to know how high you get me
Is to see how far I fall?
God only knows how much I'd love you if you'd let me
But I can't break through at all

It's a heart...
Heartbreak

I don't care if we don't sleep at all tonight
Let's just fix this whole thing now
I swear to God we're gonna get it right
If you lay your weapon down
Red wine and ambien
You're talking shit again
It's heartbreak warfare
Good to know it's all a game
Disappointment has a name
It's heartbreak

How's that for the perfect accompanying song? Yay.

interests
never were mine.
Stack up
the vinyl and
literature and bowl them
over
with
our passion.
If we're being forward,
I'll say I don't care.
You'll say nothing, because
you are invisible.
And let's say I don't know
your smiling face
and you've never
noticed my sarcasm.
Let's say it for saying its sake.
Because

if we call
it what it is,
you'll take all
of it
away.
Let's say there are
no mannerisms in
anonymity. I will lie
about how I really don't care.
And you can pretend

you aren't listening to
every word.
You're not waiting to see
yourself in the pieces that
are left of me.
Let's pretend I can't
tell your punctuation from
the next man's ending.
Go ahead,

tell me,
tell me that I can't feel you
even through invisibility.
And I'll tell you I don't want to.

Debate

Conversations are raging in my teeth.
Enamel chips and flakes like
words I want to say.
My palate is coated by your abandonment,
a bitterness that can't be licked away.
My teeth are dueling consciences,
that bite at theoretical cheeks.
To talk to who is not listening or
to eat my cheeks instead--
to swallow indigestible garbage
or hide it beneath my tongue--
to talk to who won't hear me
or to swallow what I want--
the debate is never won.

Final Chapter

So this is how the story went

I met someone by accident
That blew me away
That blew me away

It was in the darkest of my days
When you took my sorrow and you took my pain
And buried them away, you buried them away

You dropped me off at the train station
put a kiss on top of my head
watched me wave
you watched me wave
Then went on home to your sky-scrapers
and neon lights and waiting papers
 that you call home
You call it home.

111.When you help someone do you ever think, “What’s in it for me?”
Yeah. I think everyone thinks that every now and then.
112.What is your greatest challenge?
My own stubbornness.
113.How do you know when it’s time to continue holding on or time to let go?
Ha. I don’t. I’m a crab to the core, if ya love something, hold it tight, even if you lose an arm in the process. lol
114.How do you define success?
A person’s own happiness and fulfillment with what you’ve done.
115.If someone could tell you the exact day and time you are going to die, would you want them to tell you?
NO way.
116.If I could grant you one wish what would you wish for?
A guy who is perfect in my own opinion with great genes so we can have some babies =]. I’d wish for it without hesitation.
117.What have you read online recently that inspired you?
Giveadamn.com
118.Why do religions that advocate unity divide the human race?
Because there is human error in all religions, clearly.
119.If you could live one day of your life over again, what day would you choose?
Probably the day I graduated. I have such a great support group. That, or a secret day with someone I love that is probably only precious to me =]
120.What can money not buy?
CAN’T BUY ME LOVE!!
121.If you left this life tomorrow, how would you be remembered?
It depends. I think I polarize people. People who don’t like me will probably remember me as loud and obnoxious. People who love me will remember me as passionate and head strong in my beliefs. Everyone will remember me as stubborn and out-spoken. =]
122.Beyond the titles that others have given you, who are you?
Who needs titles? I am only what I am in this moment and in the past. And the perspective changes from each angle, so I refuse to confine myself. (Wow, that was very liberal arts of me…)
123.If you could live the next 24 hours and then erase it and start over just once, what would you do?
I’d ignore my pride and do what I want.
124.Is it possible to know the truth without challenging it first?
Yes. I believe in instincts.
125.What word best describes the way you’ve spent the last month of your life?
Transitioning.
126.What makes everyone smile?
Nothing. There isn’t one thing that can make everyone smile.
127.What do you owe yourself?
A little respect would be nice.
128.What would your ‘priceless’ Mastercard-style commercial be?
One trip to the ER from an older brother; $1,500
10 years of free hair cuts and colors; $1,100
Having a brother and sister who’ve got your back? Priceless.
(That is only one of many =)
129.Can you think of a time when impossible became possible?
No.
130.Why do you matter?
Because I exist.
131.How have you changed in the last five years?
I’ve grown up. Enough said.
132.What are you sure of in your life?
I can’t think of anything I’m sure of. It just seems like everything is always in transit.
133.When you think of ‘home,’ what, specifically, do you think of?
The house I grew up in.
134.What’s the difference between settling for things and accepting the way things are?
Settling is accepting the way things are when you shouldn’t.
135.How many of your friends would you trust with your life?
Wow. What an eye opener. Maybe one?
136.What’s your definition of heaven?
I don’t have one.
137.What is your most prized possession?
Ha. I’m going to have to say my bed. Or my records. That is a really tough call.
138.How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
I’m a roller coaster of passion and emotion.
139.What stands between you and happiness?
I’m just ready to settle down and play house and teacher, honestly.
140.What makes a person beautiful?
Good looks, duh! Lol And of course an open heart and a kind spirit.
141.Is there ever a time when giving up makes sense?
I’m not a huge fan of giving up, but yes.
142.What makes you proud?
I’m proud of my stubbornness when it comes to what I believe in.
143.How do you find the strength to do what you know in your heart is right?
Ha. Well, after the week I’ve had, I’ve had to do a lot of strength searching. Mostly, I try to do right by people, especially if the y can’t ask for it themselves. My heart knows what is right, so I just put my faith forward and try to keep my brain from having fear.
144.Where do you find peace?
I like to isolate to find peace. (Especially by being outside and just taking it in.) I can also find it in my family and friends. It just depends.
145.When have you worked hard and loved every minute of it?
Haha… this could really go two ways!! Hehe But, I love teaching. It truly makes me happy.
146.How short would your life have to be before you would start living differently today?
I think it is short enough!
147.Is it better to have loved and lost or to have never loved at all?
Nope.
148.What would you do if you made a mistake and somebody died?
I’d be a hot mess…. I guess it depends on the circumstance. Scary question.
149.Who do you trust and why?
I can’t say I fully trust anyone right now. The people I’ve truly trusted are gone, which makes it hard for me to give my full self. I suppose I keep a part of myself from pretty much everyone. I guess I’m scared they’ll take it away with them… hm… interesting.
150.If you were forced to eliminate every physical possession from your life with the exception of what could fit into a single backpack, what would you put in it?
Pictures of loved ones, my rosary, my phone and charger, my ipod, Joel’s lighter, my class ring, and my first edition “Emma” to read. I’m not very possession oriented. Other than my records and bed…. Which wouldn’t fit!
151.When does silence convey more meaning than words?
Silence conveys just as much as words. The absence of communication is, in itself, a part of communication.
152.How do you spend the majority of your free time?
It really depends. I’m into a little of everything… depends on the day
153.Who do you think of first when you think of ‘success?’
A rich white male. Ugh, so ashamed of myself!! lol
154.What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher or a country singer. (Or the wife of Billy Ray Cyrus)
155.How will today matter in five years from now?
It’s just a grain of sand on my square foot of life.
156.How have you helped someone else recently?
I stopped someone from being abused, and I did it all by myself.
157.What is your greatest skill?
I’m tenacious! Is that a skill?
158.Do you see to believe or believe to see?
I have to see it to believe it... and even then, I only see what I want to sometimes.

I'm really not too worried about formatting this to match the other stuff because I'm not far from being done with the questions... and I'm pretty positive that the few readers I have don't really care. It's officially 2am so I should be sleeping. It is just hard to sleep with a heavy heart.

And I wish I could lay down beside you
When the day was done
And wake up to your face against the morning sun
But like everything I've ever known
You'll disappear one day
So I'll spend my whole life hiding my heart away
And I could spend my whole life hiding my heart away

Your Love's Like Salt

it's not my fault

postsecret.com

Is it bad that I take postscret postcards as signs from God? Probably. Either way, I like feeling like there is some guidance. Even if it is only me being psychotic.

Drop A Heart

I'm shocked that I've failed this song. After ridiculing everyone for strapping themselves to the FOB bandwagon in high school I actually listened to them and found, holy heck, I like 'em. This was a total theme song, cause, yeah, I usually am more than boys bargain for. But it is what it is. (Picking my favorite lyrics is near impossible... too much goodness going on in the lyrics)

Am I more than you bargained for yet
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
(A notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name
We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it

Is this more than you bargained for yet
Oh don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet
Wishing to be the friction in your jeans
Isn't it messed up how I'm just dying to be him
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
(Notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

101.What is your number one goal for the next six months?
To find a job.
102.Would you ever give up your life to save someone else?
Yeah, I probably would.
103.Are you happy with yourself?
In ways, yes. In others, no.
104.What is the meaning of ‘peace’ to you?
Peace is the equivalent of recognizing God to me. I’m always searching for it and it comes in pieces and wanes like the moon.
105.What are three moral rules you will never break?
Everything is circumstantial.
106.What does it mean to allow another person to truly love you?
I don’t know. I can’t say that this is my specialty.  I honestly can’t come up with an answer.
107.Who or what do you think of when you think of love?
There are many types of love.  God says to love. I love my family. I’m still in love with my ex. Life is a love story. I love reading in bed when it is raining outside. I wonder what true love looks like. etc.
108.If your life was a novel, what would be the title and how would your story end?
Push Hard; the struggle for luck, loyalty and love in everyday life.
Maybe it would end with a question? (Or an ellipsis in parenthesis….)
109.What would you not give up for $1,000,000 in cash?
My morals.
110.When do you feel most like yourself?
When I’m with someone I can share my soul with unabashedly.
