Second Hand News

Well, I'm no part of The Fray, but I can now "save a life" theoretically. I'm CPR and First Aid certified. It is so nerve wracking knowing I might be using either one of them... phew! Either way, as I was watching everyone blowing up plastic bags and compressing what looked like portable bicycle pumps, I couldn't help but add How to Save a Life to the visual. Here is a link for the song if you don't already know it...

My second point of business, my youngest niece turned 2 today! I can't wait to have kids of my own, but while I wait, my nieces and nephew are my everything!

My third... NO trip to Chicago. NO Record Store Day digging. NO Hockey Game. Possibly no trip to the river in Missouri either. (At least not on the dates I had planned.) =[ Go figure! I ended up with the exact opposite rotation from what I wanted. Which totally bums me out. How can the best holiday be such a waste?! Oh well, guess I'll stick to my dry spell as far as vinyl goes. =[

At least I always have my Rumours record to keep me company as I cry myself to sleep on the 16th! (Actually I have TWO of them)

I know there's nothing to say
Someone has taken my place
When times go bad
When times go rough
Won't you lay me down in tall grass
And let me do my stuff

I know I got nothin' on you
I know there's nothing to do
When times go bad
And you can't get enough
Won't you lay me down in the tall grass
And let me do my stuff

One thing I think you should know
I ain't gonna miss you when you go
Been down so long
I've been tossed around enough
Couldn't you just
Let me go down and do my stuff

I know you're hopin' to find
Someone who's gonna give you peace of mind
When times go bad
When times go rough
Won't you lay me down in tall grass
And let me do my stuff

I'm just second hand news
I'm just second hand news

A little info on the best record of all time... Rumours is such a sweet gem because of all the heartbreak the band and writers were going through at the time it was made. Fleetwood was having his own problems at home, the McVies were splitting and Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham were always at it. You want amazing lyrics? Grab a bottle of tension off the shelf of love and stir the pot! Break the hearts of five amazing lyricists and then give them a pen and some paper. Presto! You have an amazing album for any difficult relationship. (And let's face it, they're all difficult.) Either way, I love this album and I'm totally intrigued with the history of the making of it. Love sucks, but oooooh how it inspires!

Actually, I AM sick! Unfortunately, I'm on the 120 day plan of suck-it-up-or-become-unemployed! I could probably take the trip another weekend if my travel partner wasn't on the complete opposite schedule!

And it isn't *cough cough* it is *sniffle sniffle"!
